| Say we had a real Secretary, a Doctor, a Banker and a Solicitor who wanted to take part in a mystery. The story would include those professions and a few others as well.
With such people the plot might include a romantic affair for the Secretary. The Doctor would obviously have access to drugs as the Banker would have access to Bank accounts and cash. The Solicitor might be involved in the drawing up of a will.
So in a matter of a few seconds we have the basis for a good Murder Mystery plot. My job would be to then add flesh to the bones culminating in a series of inter related events that would provide one of the characters with a motive for Murder. If I have not put on previous mysteries for a particular organiser I usually include a few of my own people in the cast. There are usually two three or even four murders that take place during the evening. If somebody wanted to take a small part I would arrange for them to be bumped off at an early stage in proceedings. Once dead they can be asked no further questions and they can then sit back and enjoy the fun. |
