RULES OF PLAY - a brief guide page 2 of 3
If you remain seated at your table
for the entire evening it is highly unlikely that you will be able to find the solution, as you will miss what the characters are saying to each other, which is often crucial.
You cannot ask, "Are you a murderer? " or "Are you involved in the plot?"
If you do all the characters have been instructed to answer "No" regardless of whether that is true or false.
You can only ask a person about what they themselves said or did. You cannot ask a person about what somebody else said or did. If you try you will be told to speak to the person concerned.
You can speak to any person you wish
even if it later transpires that they are not involved in the story.
IMPORTANT - Any character involved in filming or genuinely involved in the story is permitted to tell lies. i.e. It isn't the case that only the murderer can lie. Everybody else who is not involved must always tell the truth.
