Welcome to Wayne Russell's website. The UK release date for the multi award wiinning supernatural thriller Curio, directed by Steve Nesbit, has now been set for April 2011. Another feature, The Last Days of Edgar Harding. directed by Stephen Fox is due for its initial screening later this month. Wayne plays the title role in this tense thriller about an up and coming Leeds band on the verge of success.
About Wayne
Born in Brighton, Wayne moved to Derbyshire in 1972 where he has lived ever since with his wife Ruth whom he married in 1980. Wayne's route into acting may not be unique but it is certainly unusual. For 31 years Wayne was a Detective with the Derbyshire Police and even though during this time he was heavily involved with Sheffield theatre it was only on completion of his police career that he was then able to concentrate on becoming a full time actor.
When not working Wayne's life revolves around his family. He has 4 grown up 'children' ranging from 25-34 years of age and one grandaughter who was born in November 2009. With such a busy lifestyle Wayne doesnt get much time to relax but when he can he likes nothing more than walking in the Peak District or North Yorkshire with his two dogs Sandy and Oscar. On a personal level Wayne is determined to follow his acting journey as far as it will take him. "I love this life" he said, "You can be a good guy one day and a bad guy the next, every day is different"
